Please follow the following steps for the safe shipment of your device.
If your device is a Hard Disk Drive unit: Remove the damaged disk. If you are not sure about how to remove the hard drive from your PC, we recommend this task to be performed by a properly trained technician. Have in mind that sometimes opening your computer case can void of your product’s warranty.
![]() On a desktop computer, open-up the side panel, unplug all the wires from the hard drive, remove the screws that attach it to the case and pull it out carefully. In some computers this procedure can be different, in such case, ask the manufacturer. |
![]() On a laptop computer, the hard drive is normally located under one of the covers on the bottom side of the computer. Nonetheless, this changes according to brand and model. In some cases it is necessary an authorized technician to remove the hard drive. |
Packing your device for shipping: Place your device (hard drive, pen drive, memory card or other) inside an anti-static bag or wrap it in anti-static material. These types of bags (ESD Safe) are a commonly used material shipping delicate electronic devices. Finally, place the device inside a box, with at least 5cm (aprox. 2”) of plastic foam or packaging pellets between the device and the box. Ensure that device is not lose inside the box.
